A seated figure in a reserved position made of a flat-shaped pebble. Magoula Karamourlar (Magnesia), Neolithic period (6500-4500 B.C) now on display in Athanasakeion Archaeological Museum of Volos, Greece.
Stone figurines, as a rule, are scarce, usually of small size, and made of soft rocks. Furthermore, only a tiny percentage (5%) of Neolithic figurines fall into large-sized ones, namely over 35 cm in height. The dark grey surface is the end result of polishing, as indicated by the unworked facets of the pubic area, which display the original lighter color of the stone.
