The double axe or Pelekys, was an important sacred symbol, in ancient Crete, in the Minoan religion. In Crete it never accompanies male gods, only female goddesses. It seems that it was the symbol of the Arche of the creation
Its symbolism is also linked directly with the Labyrinth, which originally denotes the Palace of Knossos in the city of Crete. Alternately, Labrys is believed to have been derived from the Lydian word for axe.
The cuff-links are crafted with extra care in 925 Sterling Silver. It was made in Greece, width size is 21mm and weighs approximately 9 g.
