The original dating approximately at 520BC is at the Museum of Louvre in Paris.
Heracles kneeling at the gates of Hades, chains the two-headed hound Kerberos.
Hercules asked Hades' permission to briefly capture Cerberus, and told him why. Hades agreed that Hercules could try, as long as he used no weapons and did not hurt poor Cerberus. Hercules used his bare hands. He scooped all three heads up at once, and strangled Cerberus until he was unconscious.
Red-figure vase painting is one of the most important styles of figural Greek vase painting. It developed in Athens around 530 BC and remained in use until the late 3rd century BC. It replaced the previously dominant style of Black-figure vase painting within a few decades. Its modern name is based on the figural depictions in red colour on a black background, in contrast to the preceding black-figure style with black figures on a red background. It was Hand made in Greece, height is aproximately 14 inches. Our clay items are Hand painted and not fastly made, nor are they cheaply made of substitute materials such as resin. We stick to the materials and methods used by ancient Greeks and use only top quality ceramics and paints. Do not expect "perfection" as if these clay vases was not mass produced from a machine like many are, but by hand.
