Ramiel is the angel of hope, and was one of the once seven archangel who tended and maintained Heaven, as well as humankind, spiritually and physically, who were once led by Michael. His name means "Thunder of God", and he was the fifth archangel of the seven, representing Thursday, the fifth day of the week. According to the Book of Enoch, he was tasked with guiding the souls of the faithful to Heaven, and was set over those who will rise from the dead, knowing the names of all who shall one day be resurrected, and watched over those who already have been. Along with this authority, God had granted Ramiel the power to resurrect anyone, may it be from Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, The Empty, etc. He was one of the very few beings in the universe who possessed the power to also bring back angels and demons killed by an angel blade, an ancient Enochian blade, or The Colt. He is said to have been the archangel responsible for the destruction of the armies of Sennacherib, as well as being the bearer of the instructions of the seven archangels, which he received directly from God.
Though he was once one of God's most trusted, Ramiel eventually had succumb to his arrogance, lust, and curiosity, and in him began to brew the fires of resistance. He was one of the 20 leaders of 200 fallen angels who had descended to Mount Hermon, and swore upon the mountain to "take wives among the daughters of men" and take mutual imprecations for their sin. Additionally, they also mated with human women and taught mortals forbidden knowledge. For these reasons, Ramiel was cast out of Heaven, and has lived among mortals ever since.
