JOCKEY OF ARTEMISION

The Jockey of Artemision is a large Hellenistic bronze statue of a young boy riding a horse, dated to around 150-146 BC. It is a rare surviving original bronze statue from Ancient Greece and a rare example in Greek sculpture of a racehorse. They are among the very few surviving large-scale bronze sculptures from antiquity. The original item is located in National Museum of Greece. This figure, as with all our other bronze items, are cast in Greece, using the traditional 'lost wax' method, therefore each piece is unique. It was made in Greece, stands 51 centimeters high, 87 centimeters width, and weighs approximately 30 kg.
