Democritus (c. 460 – c. 370 BC) was an Ancient Greek philosopher born in Abdera, Thrace, Greece. A pupil of Leucippus he was an influential pre-Socratic philosopher who formulated an atomic theory for the universe. Many consider Democritus to be the "father of modern science". This bust, as with all our other bronze items, are cast in Greece, using the traditional 'lost wax' method, therefore each piece is unique. It was made in Greece, stands 19 centimeters high, 9 centimeters width, and weighs approximately 2 kg.
